After the state Assembly went through scary hours following detection of snakes twice within a span of three days in July end, another hooded guest created flutter on Wednesday. This time the snake gained entry into the Assembly guesthouse, situated a stone’s throw from the Assembly.
Snake catchers caught hold of the 6-ft long rat snake (ptyas mucosus) from the guesthouse campus.
“It is rainy season. Snakes sneak into houses in search of preys,” Subhendu Mallick, member of Snake Helpline said.
Earlier on July 23, a reptile had stalled the house proceedings by slithering into the assembly. Two days later, another snake was caught from the august house. The entry of the slippery trespasser had forced the state government to take a decision of giving facelift to the House complex.
