Timber mafias nabbed in Angul

The Bantala range officers on Sunday nabbed three timber mafias after an encounter at Badakantakula village in Angul.
The incident took place at 3 am on Sunday, when Bantala range officers were returning after conducting a raid.
The Bantala range officers led by J.P. Singh seized two pick-up vans filled with logs of teak wood.
There was an encounter between the forest officials and the timber mafias while the former were returning after the raid.

In this encounter, three timber mafias were nabbed and the driver of the forest department was injured. Later the driver was taken to Angul hospital.
